![]() Overland ConveyorsMACMET is the first company in India to indigenously design, supply, erect, test and commission a long distance overland conveyor for the Kymore Works of ACC Ltd. to transport limestone from the mines to the plant. The total route length of the conveyor is approximately 10.6 km covered by 2 nos. overland conveyors of 5.3 km long each. Such long conveyors normally follow the contour of the terrain which often involves curves in both horizontal and vertical planes. Availability of high strength steel cord belting and sophisticated dynamic model analysis for assessing the behaviour of the conveyor along the curves have encouraged customers to opt for long distance conveyors. If you are looking for an alternative to conventional haulage of material from one place to the other through mobile equipment (trucks, etc.) involving high manpower costs, MACMET can design and supply you an overland long distance conveyor system that will reduce your dependence on large manpower. Long overland conveyors result in multiple benefits in terms of lower capital cost, reduction in manpower requirement, less maintenance and minimal operating cost. Troughed belts are normally used to carry bulk materials with low capital cost. With the availability of highly resilient belting, troughing angles up to 45 degree are common for handling difficult materials and higher load capacity. In case of routing the conveyors over the terrain having firm ground, real civil footings are avoided and the conveyors are supported over concrete sleepers to transfer the load from the equipment. Depending on the total length of the overland conveyor system, availability of power along the route and accessibility to the site, the total length is suitably divided and number of conveyors along the route are fixed. This is carried out with the primary objective of reducing the cost of belt and the cost of electrics. Macmet has undertaken design, supply, erection and commissioning of a 3.7 km long cross country conveyor for Birla Corporation for their Satna Cement Works. The conveyor will carry 1200 tons of limestone per hour at a speed of 3.5 m sec. A single 8 km cross country conveyor is being commissioned by Macmet for ACC Limited for their plant at Chanda. The conveyor will carry 1500 T of limestone from the ACC mine to the Plant. Macmet has also designed, supplied a 9 km cross country conveying system for OCL Limited (Dalmia Group). The system consists of 13 conveyors of 1000 mm belt width which will carry 750 tons of crushed limestone from Lanjiberna Mines to their Rajgangpur Plant. The conveyors will be equipped with dustless chutes. |
